Jimin of BTS Searches for Love in the Nightclub in 'Like Crazy' Music Video
Jimin experienced an exuberant evening at a club in the music video for his solo track "Like Crazy," directed by Oui Kim. The visually-arresting opening scene features a brief snippet of soft-spoken dialogue from the 2011 romantic film of the identical title, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Felicity Jones, and the deceased Anton Yelchin, wherein JLaw quietly utters, "I believe our love could stand the test of time."
Jimin in a green, swirling light, standing among the packed and boisterous club-goers. Meanwhile, Yelchin voices his concern, "I'm afraid that everything will disappear," to which Lawrence assures him, "Just trust me." The camera then zooms in on Jimin's face as he looks forlornly in a kitchen, crooning, "She's saying, baby, come and follow me/ There's not a bad thing here tonight."
Suddenly, an unseen hand seizes Jimin and pulls him onto the crowded dance floor. He walks in slow motion through the revelling crowds, taking shots, dishing out high-fives, and crowd-surfing his way through the night. The scene abruptly transitions to a spooky hallway, where the walls bleed a viscous black ooze for no apparent reason.
"On the dreamy chorus, Jimin sings, 'Give me a good ride/ I'm falling, falling/ Oh, it's gon' be a good night, Forever you and I,'" as he dances like everyone is watching. The video alternates between Jimin's high-energy dance moves and a break in a freaky, Transformer-like restroom, before concluding with parting shots of the singer revisiting the night's madness. Ultimately, he returns to the kitchen table, his right hand stained with the mysterious goo.
"Like Crazy" is included in Jimin's recently released debut solo album, FACE, a six-track endeavour that includes the pre-release single "Set Me Free, Pt. 2." Pdogg, Ghstloop, Supreme Boi, BLVSH, and Evan are among the producers who contributed to the album, which features songwriting credits on three tracks from his bandmate, RM.
